After reading these five stories I felt like running out of the house and buying every book wrote by Ishiguro.
I liked them that much.

Notturni di Kazuo Ishiguro.
Dopo aver letto questi cinque racconti brevi mi è venuta voglia di correre fuori e comprare tutti i libri di Ishiguro.
Si, mi sono piaciuti tanto.

Revolutionary Road di Richard Yates.
Un bellissimo libro che potrei leggere mille e mille volte senza mai stancarmene.
Non ho visto il film che hanno tratto da questa storia ma penso che lo farò prima che finisca l’estate.

The Diving Bell and the Butterfly by Jean-Dominique Bauby.
It’s impossible to read this book without having in mind that the author lived what he wrote, that he *wrote* this book literally batting an eyelid and that he died ten days after this book has been published.
I know this book, and the movie made on it, is really famous so you probably already know what’s is all about. I really loved this book and still felt like sharing my two cents with you.

Lo scafandro e la farfalla di Jean-Dominique Bauby.
È impossibile leggere questo libro senza pensare che l’autore ha vissuto quello che ha scritto, che ha scritto questo libro letteralmente con un battito di ciglia e che è morto dieci giorni dopo la pubblicazione del libro.
So che questo libro, e il film che ne è stato tratto, è molto famoso quindi probabilmente lo conoscete già.
Io però l’ho amato davvero tanto e mi andava di dirvi cosa ne penso.

Today’s post is about the last book of The Giver series.

Il Figlio di Lois Lowry.
Il post di oggi parla dell’ultimo libro della serie di The Giver.

This book’s title attracted my attention, it’s the same title as that amazing ’70s movie starring Robert Redford and Barbra Streisand.
In my research (yes, I googled it) I’ve noticed that it has been renamed as: When You Were Mine.

The Way We Were di Elizabeth Noble.
Il titolo di questo libro ha attirato la mi attenzione perché ha lo stesso titolo del bellissimo film degli anni settanta con protagonisti Robert Redford e Barbra Streisand.
Nelle mie ricerche (si, l’ho googlato) ho visto che ha cambiato titolo e ora si chiama: When You Were Mine.
Da quanto ho visto ancora non è stato tradotto in italiano.

These short stories really reminded me of Jumpa Lahiri’s Unaccustomed Earth.

The Thing Around Your Neck by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie.
