I’ve finished quite a few makeup products lately and I was forced to toss some.
Hoarding is probably not the best good thing when it comes to makeup.
I’m trying to focus more on using what I have and I’m trying to buy things that I actually like.
I’m not going to say I’m only buying things I need because I just don’t need anything, the products I already have could keep me perfectly made up for my whole life.
This process is going to take me ages and I’ll probably never finish all the things I’ve bought just because “It’s so cheap!” “I need another brown eyeshadow!” “I saw it in a blog post!” but  I’m trying.
I have to officially thank Dani at Shopping&Reviews for this post about how not to buy too much useless stuff and Liz at Beauty Reductionista, I’ve been reading her blog for ages and she’s definitely my inspiration when it comes to finishing things. She made a super interesting post with tips for emptying stuff: check it out!
Prodotti finiti!
Ho finite decisamente diversi prodotti make-up ultimamente e sono stata anche costretta a buttarne alcuni.
L’accumulo probabilmente non è la via migliore quando si parla di cosmetici. Probabilmente non lo è in nessun campo ma sicuramente lo è ancor meno quando parliamo di prodotti che con il tempo si deteriorano.
Sto cercando di utilizzare di più quello che ho già e di comprare cose che mi piacciono davvero.
Non dico che comprerò solo cose che mi servono perché, se sono sincera al cento per cento, non mi serve nulla.
Le cose che ho in questo momento mi potrebbero bastare per truccarmi per tutta la vita.
Questo processo di smaltimento è lungo, e faticoso, e probabilmente non finirò mai tutte le cose che ho comprato semplicemente perché “Costa poco!” “Mi serve un altro ombretto marrone!” “L’ho visto su un blog!” ma ci sto provando.
Devo ufficialmente ringraziare Dani di Shopping&Reviews per questo post sul consumo consapevole e Liz di Beauty Reductionista, leggo il suo blog da una vita ed è assolutamente la mia ispirazione quando si tratta di finire prodotti. Recentemente ha anche scritto un post molto interessante con dei trucchi e consigli sul come finire i prodotti, dateci un’occhiata.

Review: Bumble and Bumble Thickening Hairspray

I’m not an hair expert. I just wash and dry them. 
But lately I’ve been wanting to do something more and Bumble&Bumble’s products have been a great discover.
They make me feel able to DO something with my hair and that’s a great feeling for someone who usually sighs over YouTube’s simplests hair tutorial thinking “I could never do that”.
Non sono un’esperta di capelli. Li lavo, li asciugo e finisce lì.
Ultimamente però mi è venuta voglia di farci qualcosa di più e i prodotti Bumble&Bumble sono stati una grande scoperta.
Mi fanno sentire in grado di fare effettivamente qualcosa con i miei capelli. Vi assicuro che è una bellissima sensazione per una persona che di solito sospira sui tutorial di YouTube, anche i più semplici, disperandosi perché non sarà mai in grado di fare una cosa simile.

Review: Benefit Longwear Powder Shadow in Nude Swings

I used to be the biggest fan of Benefit’s products. I think it was one of the first brands that made me want to use makeup. Lately I’ve been buying less and less of their products and I’m not sure why. Maybe that’s because I’m getting to know brands I like more or maybe I just don’t feel the appeal of their packaging anymore.
I still have a soft spot for their new releases and always spend a couple of minutes at the Benefit’s counter when I’m at Sephora.
One of the latest products I’ve bought is one of the new Longwear Powder Shadows in the shade Nude Swings.
Qualche tempo fa, non molto a dire la verità, ero una delle fan più accanite dei prodotti Benefit. Penso che sia uno dei primi brand che mi ha fatto davvero venire voglia di truccarmi.
Ultimamente ho acquistato decisamente meno dei loro prodotti e non sono sicura del perché. Non ho mai avuto grossissime delusioni dal marchio, anzi. Forse è semplicemente perché ho conosciuto linee che mi interessano di più o forse perché il suo packaging -che tanto mi attirava in passato- non incontra più i miei gusti.
Continuo ad avere un po’ un debole per le loro nuove uscite e passo sempre qualche minuto al counter Benefit quando passo da Sephora.
Uno degli ultimi prodotti che ho acquistato è uno dei nuovi ombretti della linea Longwear Powder Shadows nella tonalità Nude Swings.

Review: Almond Oil

I’ve read countless posts that went on and on about how good almond oil is for your skin, yet I never bought it.
This summer my mother bought a couple of bottles while we were in Sicily, at a local farmers’ market.
I have an obsession with this type of market and I’m so sad I didn’t manage to go there, I really hope they’ll be there next year as well.
Ho letto davvero una marea di post che parlavano estremamente bene dell’olio di mandorle per la pelle.
Nonostante ciò non mi sono mai decisa ad acquistarlo e non so nemmeno io il perché.
Forse perché se dovessi comprare ogni cosa di cui la blogosfera parla bene andrei in bancarotta.
Mia mamma, immune dalle tentazioni malvagie che circolano sul web, quest’estate in Sicilia ne ha acquistato qualche bottiglia. L’ha acquistato -insieme ad altre cose tra cui dei saponi con dei profumi buonissimi- in un mercato di prodotti locali estremamente interessante.
A me questi mercati piacciono da impazzire, mi dispiace troppo non esserci andata e spero che ci sarà anche l’estate prossima in modo da poterci andare.

a tutte capita di avere un rossetto speciale, quello che ci ricorda un avvenimento, che secondo noi porta bene o che ci fa sentire meglio.. l’ombretto che ci fa sentire coccolate perchè ce lo ha regalato la nonna e anche se il colore fa pena schifo pietà e compassione ce lo mettiamo uguale.. il gloss del nostro primo bacio – ormai rancido e immettibile – che continua a far bella mostra di sè in mezzo a tutti gli altri e che ogni mattina salutiamo con lo sguardo.

Review: Aèsop Parsley Seed Cleansing Masque

Aesop is such an interesting brand. I have to say that I’m getting into *proper* skincare just lately and this brand’s parsley seed cleansing masque is one of those products that makes me happy.
 
Aesop è un brand interessantissimo. Non è per niente economico, io in questo momento non mi ricordo il prezzo esatto (probabilmente l’ho rimosso per i sensi di colpa) ma è costata più di quello che sono abituata a spendere per una maschera viso. Devo dire che mi sto interessando come si deve di skincare solo nell’ultimo periodo e la clearing masque di questo marchio è uno di quei prodotti che mi rende felice.

I have to say that even the simplest shades look so much better in Nars sleek black packaging. Yes, my crush for this brand is still strong.
I’ll get over it.

La review di oggi parla di un meraviglioso duo di ombretti Nars, Silk Road.
Devo dire che anche le tonalità più semplici sono tanto più belle nel packaging nero ed elegante di Nars. Sì, la mia cotta per il brand è ancora forte.
Supererò questa fase.

Essence’s limited edition products are -almost- always way better than the products in the permanent range.
Today we’re talking about an eyebrow mascara that was part of the Guerrilla Gardening collection and that I absolutely adore.
 
I prodotti delle limited edition Essence sono -quasi- sempre meglio di quelli nella loro linea permanente.
